Chinese chess huh.....
Woke up pretty early today, got myself ready and drove to the KTM station to get to uni. My car's not been acting properly lately so well... better not risk driving too far. There's the IMU cup chinese chess competition today. Chaozer had asked me to participate last week, so I took it up. Wasn't too hard to learn considering I had the basics from chess, but I had to familiarize myself with it.
In the first game, we were up against sem 1. I was placed in the third board... Was winning pretty much.. until my opponent came up with a time crisis! Sheesh... I lost because I tried to play my opponent out of time... ended up blundering and losing big time. We went to have lunch, Chaozer, Jackson, Yi Ning, Jin-Yu and I. Jin-Yu came to support and cheer for us.
In the second match, I ran out of time and blundered... demanded a draw, but to no avail... in my desperation, I missed a chance to draw the game and lost it. The third game... I was down on time... losing, I kept my calm and played as quickly as possible. I was winning when my opponent's time went up... So, I won ^^
Fourth game wasn't much to talk about... the pharmacy students apparently couldn't wait to lose and get out of there to go play DotA... sheesh...
For the fifth game against sem 5, I had Ven Gee substitute me against Teng Hong... He played pretty superbly and won. Chaozer won 4 games and drew one...
Our batch ended 3rd... Not too bad really, its a nice experience... and we improved from last year's results of 4th place.
