Ultraman Jacky! ^_^

Here's my bro in ultraman stance

April Fool......

Its April Fool's day tomorrow... doubt anyone of my batchmates would be fooling around... at least not till after the paper anyway. So, guys and girls, be wary. =P

Stress!!

There hasn't been any updates for the past few days because I've been busy studying for my Respi exams. Really wanna score for this one... at the very least pass it. As for what I've been doing the past few days... study, study, study!!

I perceive my knowledge as insufficient to meet demands (passing) and hence causing stress. Just a 13 more hours before I get to decide my fate... whether I can make it through sem 3 or not.

Planned to go to Carl Lin's place, but my car's still not back from servicing... so, I cooked up a lil something.

Yummy yum! It was delicious...

Yet another Monday...

Woke up at 8, and went to teach tuition at 10... was feeling kinda sleepy, so I actually dosed off while my student was doing her sums. Sheesh...

Went to Uni, was feeling tired and I dozed off a lil during the lecture. Both lectures were combined into one so I got to go off early. Went to the library to study a bit then went home. Nothing much happened so far, and here I am... Medicine's tiring...

IMU open day, sold my soul to the devil for 30 bucks. Not bad eh?

Ahh well, its IMU open day today. I woke up at 8:30am... reached IMU at about 9:15. There wasn't much to do and we weren't really clear on what to do either. So well, the bunch of us tour guides gathered up and received instructions. at 10:45am, we led the prospective clients of IMU around the place and giving a pretty much thorough tour... not that there's much to see around IMU anyway. It felt like.... sheparding lambs. Talking ones. =P Now that's reminding me of the roast lamb for Pak Lun's birthday.... yummy yum! The sauce was delicious and sour... anyway back to topic...

After giving the first tour, I went to claim my lunch (we got a lunch coupon each) from the reception. Fried rice with egg and anchovies, its pretty decent... no complaints there. Saw Khang Min first, then Carl Lin and her family. So, brought them around for a tour. Sat through the talk about the medical course with them as well. It was kinda weird though... sitting there listening to the whole talk and knowing the workings around IMU, I could as well just stand up front there and give the talk myself. Carl Lin and her family had to go home after the talk. I resumed my duties which was giving a guided tour about pharmacy by the way... sheesh! Seems they were having a lack of people.... guess only medic people are that free to go around giving tours? =p

Leg muscles were aching and my feet were crampy whole day long, due to basketball yesterday... it was quite a chore walking up and down the stairs. After every went off, I just hung around with Joseph in the student lounge where we talked about Christianity and as usual, fending off attempted brainwash. I respect each religion as they are and it is actually quite interesting to study them, and know how their beliefs work. But well, to me... the main purpose of religion is for self improvement, to guide humans in their way of life. To set limits and boundaries for weak-minded people who need some sort of security to hold on to. Talking about sin... a sin is a sin when it is a sin to yourself and only applies to yourself. To be judgemental about others sinning, or following set standards of what is sinning... well, I'd suppose to me, that's a sin. =p Thank goodness to Hippocrates many thousand years ago, there's such a thing called law. Now that's something worth believing in... and lawyers make a living out of it too.

And no, I don't believe in what's gonna happen after I die. I do believe that I have to live my life the very best because there's only one go at it... life is a game without a save/load option. Whatever decisions we make, whatever mistakes we make... the consequences will befall upon ourselves. Life is meant to be lived the way a person wants to live it. I do believe and hope that everyone around is doing that. Be it those of the religious sort or those who are not. It is important to have faith in what you believe in, expecially when it comes to religions. Don't preach what you wouldn't do. Incestuous rape cases in the newspapers are solid proof. ;-)

Baking pie... and handphone

Woke up at 6:00am, brought bro to play basketball with Carl Lin. Left house at 7am, but reached her house at around 8 because I got lost on the way... was being adventurous and tried yet another different route. Went to play with Khang Min and Woan Ling. Just upon reaching, we were invited to a 6 on 6 full court game... with 2 girls on each side. Carl Lin and Woan Ling just step out to sit and hence the opposition 2 girls also stopped playing.... sheesh, girls and basketball...

So well, we lost terribly... cos our team were a bunch of idiotic kiddos who didn't know how to play basketball. Kept attempting 3-point shots when its pretty obvious they'd never hit one in. Later on played 1 on 1 against Khang Min... the game ended at 4-1. He was on like one of the greatest missed shot streak in history, I was still pretty much rusted. So all in all, its a fair game =P

Went to Carl Lin's house after that to bathe, forgot to bring down my towel... had to dry myself doggie style. >.<

Had breakfast of noodles at her place then went to Giant to shop for the stuff we needed to bake shepard's pie. I left my phone in the car under the hot sun..... and it ended up being baked... couldn't on it, the battery was swollen... felt in quite a worried and bad mood then. Drove back home with Carl Lin. Mom was home, so this is the first time they're meeting. We got down to work, preparing the potatoes and gravy... we also made spaghetti. The pie was a lil overbaked, but still alright. The spaghetti was nice. Yum!

Drove Carl Lin home at around 7pm, we reached there at 8... and then went to a handphone shop to service my handphone. I bought myself a new one, Nokia 3100 ^_^
Its pretty nice! Costed me RM430... the repair charge was RM60 and I got myself a reload card for RM60 as well. So.... all in all, I'm officially broke. Sent her home and then went home... reached at 10:10pm... it was a fun way to spend a day. Was nice that the pie and spaghetti turned out alright. Too bad my handphone got baked as well =p

Clinical visit, revisited

I slept at 4am last night and had to wake up at 6:30am to drive to Uni cos we'd agreed to go to the clinic we were supposed to visit by LRT. Was supposed to meet there at 7:45am, and I was actually late by a few minutes... turns out I was the earliest. Sheesh... talk about Malaysian time....

Anyway, we walked to the LRT station and took the train to the Maluri station. Was feeling so tired and sleepy all the while. We reached there and actually walked the wrong way until we asked a traffic policman and he redirected us. So well, we were walking along the right track when we saw two dogs having sex. And wow, new position! Butt to butt! Really brings a new definition to doggie style huh? =p

We reached the clinic we were supposed to go to - Bandaraya Clinic (for bandaraya staff and their kins only). We were brought around to look at drugs, needles and stuff. We got to watch an Incision and Drainage (IND) procedure by a doctor. It looked really painful as he cut off an Indian woman's blister (...or boil, whatever it is). Then we were taken into the dispensary to see more drugs... and after that we were posted to doctors to watch them examine patients.

We finished at 11:45am, then walked to Jaya Jusco near-by to have lunch. Went to eat at Long John Silvers. Here's a warning note to everyone : - DO NOT EAT AT LONG JOHN SILVERS!

Why? Cos they con people! Combo meal 2 - 1 chicken, 1 fish, fries and drinks RM8.90... combo meal 3 - 1 chicken, 1 fish, 2 'shrimp', fries and drinks RM10.90

So I thought, what the heck go for combo 3 la, got shrimp.... looked like it was about half the size of the fish... what turned out were 2 bloody measly tiny prawns! RM1 each... sheesh... and what's worse... they use plastic knifes and forks and styrofoam plates... They sell a rice set, supposedly value meal but they don't even provide spoons. Nope, not even plastic spoon... friends had to eat the rice with their forks and knives. Now I know why noone ever goes there. Well, I must say though the fries are pretty cheap, crispy and hot. Not bad at all.

Took train back to uni, and then went for lectures... I zoned out during the first lecture, but managed to stay awake during the second one about lung cancer. I guess the way lectures are presented makes a difference... same goes for PBL presentation. I never bother to absorb boringly read presentations... because it just doesn't have enough appeal. Interactive presentations are far better... gotta work on my skills though, don't know if I'm lacking in any aspect... would be nice to have feedback from my PBL mates.

Dreams

I woke up at 4:30am this morning from a nightmare, it was really scary and saddening. Chatted with Carl Lin on the phone till about 6am then went back to sleep. Then had another weird dream... where I had to play weird games with my PBL mates, stuff like picking up coins from the mud with my mouth... sheesh!

Taught tuition today, have to teach the standard five twin brothers... wonder how much I'm gonna get paid... yum! Ahahaha. They were okay, had to teach them based on their Chinese books, as they're learning Maths in Chinese. Oh well, at least they understand English. That makes things a lot easier.

Parked my car at the IMU basketball court for the car wash today. Wonder if its being washed anyway... the lectures today were okay, I dozed off during the first lecture. However, I managed to stay awake and absorb during the second lecture about acute rhinittis and athsma...

Going off for PBL now.

Monday.... good day?

Woke up at 7 this morning, somehow slept on till 8... felt sleepy all day long. Went to teach tuition... came back, had lunch then drove to uni. Eyes were aching, probably from the glare... felt like closing em and sleeping off. I was late for the first lecture... sat in front, and actually dozed off. Sheesh... wasn't really awake for the second lecture either...

Anyway, went to Sunway Pyramid with Carl Lin and bro last Saturday, watched '5 Children and IT'. It wasn't really anything spectacular... pretty boring and kiddy in fact, but well... it was bro's first time going to cinema in his 5 years of life and he wouldn't really understand any of the other shows we woulda wanted to watch. After the movie, went to Mc.D to eat (more unhealthy food >.< ) ..... and then went bowling, thumb's still sore for the tiny thumbhole on the 11-pound balls. Went to Kim Gary's for dinner. Ordered cheese baked rice with fish chop with Italian red sauce. ^_^ not bad really.

I wonder if there's any title better than 'Tired!'

Ahhhhhh...... I didn't sleep well last night, woke up at 4:50am feeling cold and what did I do? Increased the temperature of the air-cond instead of turning it off... ended up losing more sleep. SPM results were out today... my baby did pretty okay.

Left for uni at 12:15pm. The two lectures today were really boring and hard to understand. Maybe its just cause I'm tired... sigh

Stressed!

Had to wake up at 7 this morning because CSU's at 8..... didn't have a tie, gotta put 'buy tie' in my to-do list. I got screwed up by Dr.Timothy Song for not having a tie... luckily the Sister was kind enough to lend me a tie... again. Geee.... well CSU went on pretty smoothly. I went to the library to study the mechanism of breathing... couldn't understand a single thing, so I just read blindly...

Took results at 11 something... I scored C+ for CVS..... shit! Ohh well not like its unexpected... I'm not someone who grieves over failures for long... gonna pull up my socks and work harder this time round. I want an A for respi!!

Went to lunch with the guys at 12, then back to the library to study... was feeling really tired, couldn't really absorb much of the two lectures... after classes, I rushed of to do my CVS community clinic report to hand in before five..... ended up that my format was wrong and I'm given till Friday to hand in. Feeling tired... probably caused by the early waking time.

Tired

Gave tuition in the morning, my tutee's exams start today and end on Friday. Ohh well, sure hope she does well. Went to Uni straight after teaching tuition... went to the library and studied clinical examination before finally feeling too tired and slept there. Lectures were okay, I wasn't sleepy to the point where I couldn't absorb anything. Dr.Reddy is kinda monotonous though. PBL today was great! Everyone's more enthusiastic as ever to carry on Dr.Lawrence's ideology, everyone's worked up and keen on studying. Makes me feel that there's still hope around the corner, that if I worked hard enough, I'll actually succeed

Finally, an update huh?

Haven't been feeling much like blogging in the past few weeks.... Semester 3 just started yesterday. I've gotta work way harder for the systems course to come. Just found out that Sunny didn't make it pass his repeat... its really saddening, he tried hard and he's not lousy either... spent so much of his life around IMU and it had to turn out this way... take care Sunny, life will have a better path for you to walk.

I'm feeling afraid... don't think I'll wanna repeat the semester if I screw up again this time. I have no confidence at all, feeling lost for hope... all I can do is to work harder and pray it'll redeem me.
